An Angel provides a voluntary, non-intrusive, non-diagnostic videotaped
3D 4D ultrasound to facilitate parent bonding and is for sentimental
purposes
only. 4D Ultrasound videos and 3D ultrasound pictures are not for use
in
medical analysis and/or
physical diagnosis. Picture An Angel does not give fetal measurements,
will not establish or give an opinion on gestational week or due dates,
will not establish fetal heart rate, and will not give any physical
diagnosis regarding a pregnancy or fetus or viability of same.
How far
along in my pregnancy do I need to be to sneak a peek at my baby?
Picture
An Angel technicians can provide 3D
ultrasound images of your baby from
16-36
weeks. If you are only planning to visit one time, the best
3D ultrasound images are captured approximately from 24-32
weeks.
The range is due to a variety of factors that impact the ultrasound
images taken
such as size of baby, fluids around the baby, positioning of baby,
placenta, hydration of mother, etc.
Why are
some ultrasound images better than others?
Again,
due to a variety of factors that impact the ultrasound images taken
such as size
of baby, fluids around the baby, positioning of baby, placenta,
hydration of mother, etc., some baby’s 3D ultrasound
images may appear
more
clear and defined. We believe that just like most moms’
pregnancy experiences are unique, most moms’ 3D 4D ultrasound
experiences are unique and are hard to compare. The baby’s
images that we see are all different, beautiful and simply
amazing! See some of our 3D
ultrasound photos!
What
are the benefits of 3D 4D ultrasound?
3D
4D
ultrasound is an elective service that allows the mother, father and
family to clearly view the unborn child in the womb. A 4d
ultrasound session gives mothers, fathers and family members a unique
opportunity to bond with the baby by seeing ultrasound images that
technology in
the past could not provide!
How far
in advance should I make an appointment?
As
soon as possible to book the weeks when you would like to view your new
baby. We can arrange convenient days and times to accommodate
your schedule. We are open Monday through Saturday, hours
vary by
location.
Do I
need a referral or prescription from my doctor?
Picture
an Angel is a non-diagnostic, non-medical procedure for your enjoyment
only. You do not need a prescription or referral from your
doctor, however we do require that you are visiting a doctor for
prenatal care and that you have already received a routine medical
ultrasound procedure recommended by your physician. We
recommend
that you inform your medical provider of your decision to receive a
3D/4D sonogram.
Who
performs the ultrasound procedure?
Trained
female sonographers graduated from an accredited sonography school.
How
long have you been in business?
Since
October of 2004. We were the first 3D
4D ultrasound
studio to begin
business in South Orange County. Our experience and knowledge
provide for quality images and an overall quality 3D 4D ultrasound
session. We know what you want and pride ourselves on
professionalism and excellent customer service.
What
type of clothing is recommended on the day of my appointment?
A
comfortable, two piece outfit to allow the sonographer accessibility to
your baby. Dresses are not recommended.
Do I
need to have a full bladder on the day of my appointment?
No.
We do recommend that you are stay well hydrated 2 to 3 days before and
the day of your appointment, 8-10 cups of water per day. Also
it
is helpful if you have a glass of orange juice or any food one hour
before the appointment, as this wakes the baby up and shows activity on
the screen.
What if
I we do not receive any images?
Due
to the position of the baby or other factors mentioned above, rarely,
but sometimes this happens. If so, a $30 sitting fee will be
charged and we will invite you to schedule an appointment either later
the same day or an alternate day to try again. You will not
pay
for the package until we can provide you with quality 3D
4D
images that you
are satisfied with. Our customers’ satisfaction is our
number one priority.
What if
you cannot determine the gender or cannot be quite sure with the
reading?
We
will invite you to come back on an alternate day to take a peek again
to verify gender for no additional charge if the sonographer is unable
to read the image. We do not guarantee gender
determination. We can accurately read what the images are
showing
depending on the baby’s positioning.
Do you
charge more for twins or multiples?
No.
How
long is my appointment?
Depending
on the ultrasound package chosen, from approximately 25 to 45 minutes
How
many family and friends can join me?
At
our Lake Forest location, we can accommodate up to 10 people.
It
is a stand-alone studio. Our Costa Mesa Hush Baby location
can
accommodate up to 12 people. Of course, if your family and
friends do not mind “getting close”, more have been known
to join in on the 3D
4D ultrasound
session at any given location!
Each
location is private and comfortable, a spa – like environment
inside the ultrasound scanning room. We have 3 screens for
you
and your guests to view the 3D
4D ultrasound
session.
Do I
need to know what type of ultrasound machine that you use?
Not
really, we believe the skill of the technician as well as the factors
mentioned above will determine the quality of your 3D
4D
ultrasound
images. We
have two different brands of the latest models of ultrasound
machines. We have GE’s and we have Medisons. The
Medisons are made by GE. The difference is like comparing
between
a Mercedes and a BMW, a Casio or Kodak, a Dell or a HP. They
are
the all high quality with slight variations. As with
everything,
ultrasound technicians have their preference based on their personal
experience.
Do you
take medical insurance?
Since
we are not a medical facility, we do not accept medical insurance.
What
type of payments do you accept?
For
your convenience, we accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express,
Discover and cash.
How
safe are ultrasounds?
Ultrasounds
have been performed for many years. There have not been any
proven negative effects from ultrasound scans performed according to
FDA standards, however the FDA discourages the use of ultrasound for
non-medical reasons. To learn more about ultrasounds,
www.ob-ultrasound.net provides further information.
